Uber is the best-known ride-hailing platform worldwide and operates in the major cities of all three markets. Germany is its most regulated: there Uber acts as a broker for licensed private-hire and rental-car firms rather than dispatching its own drivers, and Munich introduces minimum fares for app rides from July 2026.
